So this is a bit of a late entry but its better later then never!
This is my latest Octopet called "Ice Queen" and it took me 6.5-7 hours to finish. There are glass beads on the chain and crystal pendants being clutched by the octopet.
This piece looks like it would be heavy but looks can be deceiving.
This one is a real stunner for me and I will admit that it is going to be hard to separate from it...
I am really looking forward to showing this at the up-coming shows this summer!

Here are the pictures of the second pipe I mentioned in the previous blog post!
I plan of getting more pipes and trying different orientations and placements for the octopus or tentacles. The pipes will be for sale on etsy as well as at my Calgary show in April, but I can only sell them to the 18+ audience.
I don't make the pipes but I buy them from a Canadian Supplier who gets them from British Columbia or Quebec glass blowers.
No on the the mention of Christmas sales, the pictures beside the pipe are of my newest prototype! it is a glass wine bottle topper with a Octopect sculpted on top of it. There will also be 4 wine glass charms with the topper. I found these toppers in a bunch of christmas sales (after the holidays is the best time to stock up!) These shots are still in the work in progress stage more will be coming soon of the finished as well as with the charms.
Its a new year and that means new designs!
This is just a quick update on the progress of my latest piece, I am hoping to have it finished by this weekend!
I found some of those crystal filled necklaces in December before my break and over the holidays I dismantled them and started designing a Bollywood inspired Octopet. The above shots are only the first stage and once I get the tentacles on Hand painting will commence! When I am finished with this piece it will be a eye catcher for sure with the amount of bling on it.
This one and the Krakenstine Octopet will be for sale on Jan 26th 2013 at Taste of Animethon in Edmonton AB!
Check it out!
Here he is! All finished and pretty photos taken!
There are more photos of him in the "Finished Project" page on this site.
Thank you to my boyfriend for helping me re-name the theme Octopets like this one would be placed under. I was going to go with Mad Science but Krakenstein sounded way cooler so ill save that one for another theme. I am thinking I am going to do a poster like this for all my themed creations, kinda fun to create name and poster for each one. What do you think?
